KCV is right by showing you are pretty much a poster child for the marines, being able to motivate and train all types of people.

The reason being is you are the first impression of the military a enlisty has, not counting their recruiter. But I know most everyone rembers there DI or TI(Air Force) and would much rather have a beer with them than there recruiter.

You defienatly dont want someone who couldn't make it as anything else to be a DI. Thats just plain dumb.

Michael N is an idiot and has no idea what he's talking about.

Becoming a Marine Corps Drill Instructor is one of the most coveted and sought out MOS's in the Corps. Only a few are selected and even fewer make it. One must be selected to become a drill instructor and only the best of the best get this honor. Do you actually think the United States Marine Corps would have someone who washed out train recruits when to the Corps training is a religion?

Be a failure at every other Marine MOS. DI's are considered the bottom of the barrel because they can't do anything else. It's death for a career.
