My son has CMV (which causes all sorts of health problems). He is 2 years old, weighs 20 lbs. and has a feeding tube. He is unable to eat by mouth, although takes a bottle. His only source of nutrition right now is Pedisure, which has been recommended by his doctors, but he is still not gaining weight. Any ideas?

What about milk shakes? They are high in calories. You might also try some adding some of those weight gaining powders added to milk shakes, not the kind with creotine or anything. There are also mexican rice drinks you can get, these help put on weight as well.

I would ask your doctor to refer you to a nutritionist. They are used to dealing with this and can help you.

i am not a doctor, but at our house we use alot of food and herbal remedies to help, so i looked up CMV and my books say that there are some helpful foods and herbs
Acidophilus (the good bacteria found in yogurt) that can be found in liquid form also garlic they make that in a liquid and could be mixed in with something else or just dropper it in his mouth. to boost some nutrients he may not be getting from pedisure you could try "green drinks" (Kyo-Green) or juice up some fruits and veggies to add nutrients
