Everyone on this planet has a right to be an American citizen if they choose. I'm a staunch conservative and traditionalist but I say if anyone and I mean anyone wants to visit here or live here, we should welcome them with open arms. The INS should be closed, period.

Sure, why don't we just let anyone in, screw the fact that this country is overpopulated, forget the fact that terrorists can come here pretending to be immigrants, and while we are at it,lets NOT acknowledge the fact that there arn't enough jobs for everybody here as it is. yeah, lets just totally forget all of that and let everyone in.

We do embrace immigration and tourism to this country. That is one of the things that has made this country thrive so much. But when you immigrate to another country, you don't just come in without letting the people who run the country know.

American's do want people to come here. At least they should anyway. The more people we have here, the better the economy would be, and the happier the citizens are. But the big deal about illegals running around in our country is the fact that they don't do anything to support the country. They work for cash under the table and don't put into the pot like the rest of us do. Then they turn around and recieve the same benifits as the rest of the citizens do that do things the right way.

Another problem with shutting down INS (or ICE as it is known now), is that we would continue letting more people come in and get benifits that are not guarunteed to them by the constitution when they don't deserve them. Also if we were to stop trying to control our borders, it would make it a lot easier for terrorists or drug activity to get into the country.

I would love to see more people come to this country. No matter where they come from, I welcome them. But they have to do it the legal way so that way they can actually have the right to be called an American citizen and get the same rights we do.

I agree. We should welcome those who choose to live here IF THEY APPLY LEGALLY. There is a good reason for this law. The police, the INS in this case, enforce this law or are supposed to enforce this law.

If you don't like the laws of this land and can find another one that has open borders (that sounds like what you are saying), then you are free to move there. Mexico comes to mind. They have very open borders.

But I disagree with your statement that everyone on this planet has a right to be an American citizen. I think that everyone on this planet has a right to apply to be an American citizen. That is what my grandparents did.

The INS SHOULD NOT BE CLOSED!!! You don't want just anybody walking into our country. What about those who don't like us and want to cause us harm? What about the illegal immigrants who come here to work and don't pay taxes. They are costing us money and taking our jobs! Be real man, you have to control these things or America would just be over-run by immigrants. Illegals are a huge parasite to our country. I think if they want to visit here, cool. But do it the legal way. If you are an immigrant worker, do it the legal way, pay your taxes, and stop screwing the rest of us who live here, were born here. You are a prick. You need to back up your country before align with a bunch of people who don't even know what Liberty and Freedom is!

A RIGHT to be an American citizen? I disagree. There is no such thing as a right to be citizen of any nation just because you want to. EVERY nation has a process by which people can apply to become citizens of that nation. A purely open door, no holds barred policy in the age of political correctness would quickly turn the US into a morass of competing ethnicity's and languages and create utter chaos probably followed by civil war.

Historically immigration goes through cycles: Loose immigration, and Tight immigration. It's been the American way since Columbus.

Imagine you live in a 4 bedroom house by yourself. Your parents want to move in ... no problem 'cas u luv them ... then your Best Friend & wife have financial hardships and want to stay with you --- again why not, you've got the bedrooms. They're great at helping you out with chores and paying some of the bills.

Then your parents invite your brother & his 4 kids without asking you ... but they're familly and your parents out vote you. All bedrooms are now full. The chores aren't being done, and you're paying more for utilities. You're uncomfortable, but manage --- but can't take it when your Mom's blambing your for being overcrowded & messy (when u'r clean). Then your sister guilts you into moving in YOUR house with her boyfriend (who's violent) ... and soon you have ppl you don't know sleeping on your floor. Eventually, you'll have enough and start clearing your home by taking control and asking them to leave.

Your parents find a great retirment community in Florida, and still visit. Your Best Friend gets a job & house - pays you back rent ... Your brother gets on welfare, but has purchased a trailor for his kids with money from your parents. Your sister dumps her boyfriend, and finds a real man who'll take care of her in Greece ... all 'cas you found your back bone and took control of your home.

Then you're left alone again in an empty home, and the process starts all over again when you get married and your wife goes through the same problems with parents, and siblings. Next cycle is when you move in with your kids and they get full houses.

Immigration is very similar to this.

If they are a decent human being and they come here legally then I would welcome them. If they sneak in like the criminals they are, we need to get them out of here, they are ruining this country and fast. The INS should never close! They are there to enforce laws!If you lived where I do then you would understand, you are probably a rich person who lives in the suburbs so you have no clue what the rest of us have to deal with on a daily basis.

I don't completely disagree with you. People can come here but they mus come under guidance of law. If they do not, we have precious little control. Witness the fact of todays world in the USA. We are being devastated.
That's what you want sounds like to me. I don't agree with you. Monitored and balance entrance from all over the world. Not 50% from Mexico only.
Think of it this way, if you wanted a good diet you would eat around. Imagine a diet of only soda crackers. I don't believe you would live as well,unless/ if you ate more Fully.

I love people from all countries, they are free to visit and take pictures and spend money in our economy, but to become a citizen, there is a process that must be followed. If i want to become a Swiss citizen, i wouldnt expect that government to bow to my wish just because i want to live there, so why should we. If they do it right, wait their time, learn English and pay taxes, than i say welcome. Otherwise, i like to say, thanks for stopping by, dont forget to stop at the duty free shop on your way out.

You are a moron. Not liking criminals (ie, illegals immigrants) is not the same as not liking foreigners. I have never heard an American complain about LEGAL immigrants. My husband is an immigrant to the US, and he has never gotten anything but politeness from Americans.
