Good question. I have two but I'll only mention one. I used to be a Southern Baptist but I feel much better now. When I was about 14, I was in the Youth Choir. I couldn't sing but I joined to travel away from Houston for a couple weeks in the summer. One time we went to W. Virginia. We joked about bringing god to the hicks. I was with a group of about five when one of the natives asked if Texas was as civilised as the rest of the US. I thought that was an odd question coming from that part of the country. I said, "Yeah, we even have central air in our outhouses". The native was amazed at our level of technology. I think he wanted to try that on his place.

I was just about to go to bed, and I suddenly felt this overwhelming urge to pray urgently, although for what I had no idea. So I prayed and prayed until the feeling went away. It felt like I had been praying for only 5-10 minutes, but when I looked at the clock an hour and a half had gone by. I've never had an experience like that before or since.

The week when we were petitioning the Bishop to see if a baby that was brought to us was a candidate for an exorcism. It was scary and heart-breaking. The poor kid would not stop screaming. Open welts were on his little legs.

We were getting approval when - my Superior asked the parents if the child had ever been Baptized. Turns out he was not. We Baptized the poor little fellow and the attacks stopped.

The family lived in a house that was definitely haunted.

Very odd, indeed.

I attended a Baptist church once and the preacher was telling the whole congregation that they were a bunch of sinners? I was only in fifth grade mind you and hadnt done a thing wrong in my sheltered life( that sucked to lead children to believe they did something wrong)

I guess in person it would be reading a Jehovah's Witness publication. It just made my skin crawl. The way it addressed issues and the misinformation it propagated as truth was just creepy.

Two - my boyfriend, on our first date, asked point blank if I was Wiccan. We weren't even discussing religion, in fact the subject hadn't even been brooched, he just kind of put it out there.

An ex of mine that I haven't seen in nearly three years (from before I actually went, "Yep, I'm Wiccan") came back, and we were discussing how our lives were. He said, "Well, I'm actually studying Daoism now," and I said, "That's great! I'm Wiccan!" And he said, "Oh, I knew that."

Apparently men just know that I'm a witch. I really can't figure it out. But it's kind of eerie.

I was the only person to wear a bright blue and gold colalred shirt to a funeral. I got grief for that move.
