As a teen, my friends and I went to a religious revival in a church that had a psychic. He said some lame stuff to each of us and then "blessed" us by pushing down on our foreheads really hard.

He was so full of it, he was trying to fish infomation out of us! I still don't believe in them, no one can read minds or talk to the dead!

Remember Hoodini said if it was possible to contact anyone through psychics then he would have one give his widowed wife a secret code. No one was ever able to tell her the code.

What do you think about psychics?

i believe everyone has a sixth sense that we are all too busy to use or that over time we have decided wasnt worth the pain of knowing. we actually use such a small portion of our brains that it is very possible that if you were to use 50% of your brain you could possibly do just about anything including the ability to read minds. it is my understanding that einstein used only 16-18% of his brain and the average person uses less than 10%... come to think of it i run accross people daily that 5% might be a stretch.

conclusion..... most psychics are not real but i'd never discount the possiblity that a few real ones could exist.

for those before me you might want to read the whole chapter of the bible before quoting it.

A religious revival in a church that had a psychic? weird!

The Bible forbids mediums, people that talk to the dead, etc.

I do believe there are 'witnesses' to actions - spirits that see things happen. (they are present at the time) . . . and most time, these psychics are in touch with 'familiar spirits' . . . spirits that are familiar with actions or even people . . . they trick the medium into believing they are who they claim they are, be revealing info only know by someone whom had been present. All this activity is useless . . . who wants to be in touch with someone that would trick you? The goal this familiar spirit has is suspect . . . gaining your confidence for what miss-use?

I've always supposed that Hoodini and his wife did a good job of "hiding" the "code" from any such spirit (these spirits are finite and have limits), therefore the ability to counterfeit his identity was controlled, but notice this: His wife held out that one day she would "hear" from her husband . . . and she never did . . . another case where the Bible says a "chasm" has been fixed between and thus he was never able to cross back over.

I don't believe in psychics. Most of them employ a technique called cold reading. What the "psychic" does is walk out into a large group of people and say something like, "I'm getting the name Sam."

Then a bunch of people will say:

"I'm Sam."
"My Dad's name was Sam."
"I have a dog named Sam."

Nearly everyone knows someone named Sam, so that isn't exactly an out-on-the-ledge statement. then the "psychic" will say something like, "you're having money issues." Who doesn't have a money issue of some sort. They make educated guesses by waching for subtle facial cues and body language. They aren't psychic, just willing to take advantage of grieving people.

Deuteronomy 18:10 NASB) "There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices witchcraft, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer,

11 ) or one who casts a spell, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead.

12 ) "For whoever does these things is detestable to the LORD; and because of these detestable things the LORD your God will drive them out before you.

That he wasn't psychic. Psychics don't do that crap. He was a religious fanatic trying to convince you that god was giving him the power to heal you.

And yes, they exist. I wish it didn't. But I've seen things that I never wished to see. Believe me, its real.

I don't know. Logic says they are frauds but I have had an experience that says otherwise.

I woman predicted the death of my wife and gave an associated cause 13 years before she died. That confuses me.

Some are absolutely blessed with that gift. Most are fakes.

Psychics are fakes, and they should not be listened to, but people do anyway.

Very few are real, the majority are fakes.
