Well i am american and i was married to a Vietnamese and divorced yrs ago. but we had 3 children and i wanted them to have american names sense they would be living in america and born in america and going to school in america ! I didn't want a name that the other kids would make fun of when they started school, thats important ! Plus i'm american, anyway I named one daughter Kim which is Vietnamese and american name !! Not Kmberly thats american name or whatever, just first name Kim and her middle name was vietnamese , i named her after all her aunts , her dads sisters, they all had the same middle name ! So i used it because i felt it was like a FAmily name sense they all had it ! So her full name was Kim Thi Le Phan ! She passed away at only 16 and I still don't know why? Only God Knows why! And my other daughter i named Lan ,she has a full vietnamese name because she was our last baby the thrid child and i felt bad not letting him name any of them ! But i had to agree to a name , not just any funny sounding name !! But my first daughter has a american name ! I named her myself! I didn't want a crazy sounding name for a baby that was going to be growing up with american children and living in america!! Good Luck on your name. hope you like Kim it is both !!

For a boy: how about Dan? It's close to the Vietnamese name Danh, which means "prestige." For a girl: how about Kim (vietnamese meaning "Golden")
