What makes a man decide to give a woman his heart? Is it the moment or because he feels close to her and wants to open up. I know that sometimes that is a difficult task for a man. I was curious because last night my boyfriend said he gave me his heart after he opened up to me about some very personal issues he was having.
Just curious as to how other people feel about the subject, and what makes you break down and give out your heart.

First of all, You don't break down and give your heart. It just happens naturally. He grew close enough to you and felt he could talk to you about anything, I think that's when he realized he had already given you his heart. I love it.........that is sooooooooo sweet & romantic. The unconditional love for another. This is the hardest thing for a man to do because many of us are still stuck inside the bubble of the tough guy. Once you can make a man break out of this shell he will openly give you more then his heart, but the world if you wished.
When we feel comfortable of disclosure and we can trust one another both sides may give their hearts to each other...

It took my fella 2 and a half years to do it, (because he's been hurt in the past) we are now in our 13th year together, and had our first baby 10 months ago ! So, your really lucky (as am I) to have a man that is MAN enough to give his heart away ! You go girl, take a hold and never let go ! : )

I'm not really sure if I know the right answer to this one but, this is what I think. A man gives his heart to a girl because of how she makes him feel. Men might look at the girls body,looks etc... but, when it comes down to it, they pick the girl or give their heart to her because she knows how to make him feel good about himself and that makes him trust her. That in turn makes him feel like opening up and sharing himself with her completely. When it comes down to it, I am the same way. Knowing that he is completely honest with me makes me open up too.

If he broke down and trusted you enough to talk to you about important issues in his life, then he has given you his heart.
A guy knows to give his heart to a girl, when he can trust them with anything... Honesty and Trust are the two biggest issues in any relationship. He has taken one of those steps...
The next step is talking to you openly and honestly about something in your relationship that may bother him. There may not be anything right now, but there will be.
It sounds as if he truly loves you, but be careful, guys are also crafty and can turn on you in a heart beat... I just know how I have treated some of the women in my life and it hasn't been pretty.
I have been married now for 2 years and I have given my wife my heart.

Guys only do that when they know they can trust and confide in someone. He must really be inlove with you. Guys don't express their feeling unless they love and trust there girlfriend. That's what makes a couples relationship stronger, having a shoulder to lean on and someone to talk to . My fiance' and I fell inlove and I told him things that I have never told anyone and he the same. That's what you call being inlove. Being there for each other. Just be there for him, if he's spilling out his heart he must really love you.

respect and trust and loyalty but only a fool would would open up hes heart as you say to a women especially . the only way a guy can have any of those things for a women if hes known her for a very long time and dose respect her and even then maybe chances are if he dosent have any of the above hes either fooling you or he is a fool

It means he trusts you completely, to share feeling is tough for a man unless he can truly trust the woman not to tell anyone else if they are that personal and private. So it means that you earned something very special from him. Keep it close and try not to betray it.

Well you're right, it is difficult and not just for guys, I think everyone is a bit shy about showing vulnerability. What makes us able to share those feelings with someone else is trust. Your has trusted you with a very personal side of himself, something that he wouldn't share with most people because he considers it to be a weakness and we tend to hide our weaknesses. What makes him strong is being able to share that with you and that should also make your relationship stronger. Watch out... he may be in love with you ;)
