I was bitten by a brown recluse and it seems that the vemon has travelled through my body to causes sores in other areas? Is this possible? And will an antibiotic cure it?

My father got bit by one and he waited a few days and got horribly sick. They had to keep him a day or 2 and they gave him an IV with antibiotics in the hospital and then he had to take antibiotics when he was released from the hospital for like a month. It took him a few months to fully recover. He felt absolutely awful and could not barely get up for a long time. He had to have his wound repacked a few weeks too. Good luck, it is supposed to be very painful!

True brown recluse spider bites are dangerous. You will need to seek medical attention immediately. The poison from the brown recluse spider bite causes necrosis (tissue death) - leading to the sores that you see - although it is usually just in the area of the bite.

Since the skin and flesh there is broken down, it is now susceptible to developing infections - antibiotics are generally recommended. The antibiotics do not cure the bite, but will help prevent or treat an infection in that area.

You will likely need several blood tests and may need to stay in the hospital to be monitored as victims of brown recluse spider bites may develop failure in different organ systems.

if it was a brown recluse, you need to go to the hospital.

a good friend was bitten by one a long while ago and waited a few days thinking it would go away... well, he ended up very very sick and in the ER.

So, go get it taken care of by a professional.

eeks..are your serious? If so you need to go to the hospital. My brother spent two weeks in the hospital after being bitten. You may need intravenous antibiotics - or more.
