I love all kinds of dogs. Not one dog should be picked apart like pittbulls are. One thing people aren't understanding especially politicians is that if you ban one specific breed of dog, then the people who fight that dog, will just move onto another breed of dog.
Instead of blaming the dogs, we should blaming the owners. There are so many irresponsible pet owners out there, and the fines and penalties for dog fighting or not properly taking care of your animals should be a lot higher and heavier.
They should not be allowed to own another dog or animal for the rest of their life. Just like when you can figure out who in your neighborhood is a sex offender.
People should be able to see those things, so no humane society will adopt to them, no breeder will let them buy their dog. And if they do adopt them out to those people who are irresponsible pet owners then something as well should be done to them.

the best pet I had was a male pit bull. He was very loyal, friendly, intelligent, and had a winning personality. He also befriended all of the "mean dogs" in the neighborhood, principally a doberman pincher. His best friend was a cocker spaniel. Somebody stole him out of the yard, and I never knew what became of him.

I currently own a female pit bull. She is very gentle, smart, and intelligent. She has some issues with other dogs, but for the most part is friendly... in fact, too friendly. She is a lousy watch dog. I have two young daughters that play with her, and ride her back. I trust my the pit bull completely with my daughters.

Yes I have a 5 year old male. Max..is the best dog. Loyal, loving, funny, protective, all you could ask for in a companion. I have raised him since he was 2 weeks old. I hade to bottle feed him. His mom passed away during the birth, so sad. He is very spoiled. But he is worth it.

Not after my neighbors' pit bull tried to attack me as I was getting out of my car. He chased me into my garage, growling the whole time before the neighbor came and called him back home. I swear I'm calling animal control the next time I see that thing loose.

Yes, I had one growing up. Nothing wrong with them if they are raised and treated properly. Actually my pit bull was a very social dog. He was also great with kids.

Yes, they are good dogs.

As a parent you should be concerned about any unknown dog in your neigborhood, if you are only focusing on certain breeds or types you are doing a disservice to your kids as all dogs can and do bite.

They are alright if raised properly. My daughter has two and the one is the biggest baby I've ever seen. A very good dog.
