I believe an atheist can either deny or disbelieve in God(s). I think Disbelief is not the same as denial. Its either the absence of belief or the presence of skeptcism.

It seems like you read the dictionary definition. As an atheist I don't have to deny anything. I lack belief in Gods. That makes me an atheist. Whether I choose to make the claim that god does not exist or not is not relevant.

Atheism means believing that there is no God. If you are uncertain/undecided then you are an agnostic, not an atheist. If you believe there is no God, then you are denying the existence of God. So aren't disbelief and denial the same?

A person who is skeptical of the existence of God is called an Agnostic, not an Atheist. An Atheist denies the existence of God, and is convinced of his decision

It can be either one, atheism can be a choice, it you choose not to believe in God or any deities.

Atheism can also happen if you've never heard of god of deities, you don't believe simply because you don't know.

It can be the disbelief, or the absence of belief, due to choice or availability

Atheists do not believe there is a God, so they deny the existence of a God.

You can believe in the Tooth Fairy , To deny God is to believe in the existence of God. Atheists Don't believe in God, & that's OK.
I believe in Gods.I don't believe in 1 true God. Every culture has their version of a power greater then themselves.A God of their own understanding.Every culture also has its Atheists.A person that walks the spiritual path and truely believes in their God will respect another's choice of God to worship or not worship.God gave us free choice. Who are we to take from another what God gave?
You will be happier if you focus inward, & not concern yourself in others salvation.

True atheist do not believe in a God figure....but many have been embracing atheism only because of the lack of belief in a higher power or organized religion....so I agree with your analogy, I would never embrace atheism because I do believe in higher powers....however I no longer believe in organized religion....

I've never known an atheist who "denied" God. The atheists I've met simply don't believe there is one.

If you're an atheist....you don't believe in God or gods.

If you're an agnostic...you aren't sure. You haven't seen God or gods in the physical, therefore there may or may not be a God.
