ive thought about this and came up with an answer a while back...since it is hot and the vapors are rising, the fart goes up with the water vapor and just gets to your nose faster without being diluted by the surrounding air. the same with the car...an enclosed environment and the fart rises since it is hot air (hot air rises; cold air sinks). i just think it gets to your nose without being diluted by surrounding air.

Simple physics:
more air movement from the hot water, both from the water travelling throug the air and heat rising from the hot water. This spreads the gas more efficiently. You are in a small enclosed space with lots of air movement and the moving air mixes quickly, so it can be overwhelming in a short time!

Maybe cos hot air rises? Or it could be more concentrated as there is less air for it to spread out in...Gross.

Because you are in an enclosed space. There is nowhere to escape, for you or the fart.
