if it is a boy, name him Trent. And if it is a girl, name her Linh or Lindsay
those names both sound american and vietnamese.

My wife is korean and we are having the same problem, i recomend finding some straight up and down american names you like and put a vietnamese spelling spin on them, like duke and gwen, or just be sure the middle name is extra vietnamese i.e. James Pho, not a serious sugestion but you get the idea.

Song
It sounds like an Asian name when you pronounce it, but the word itself is English and lovely too!
I had a friend who was adopted from Laos and was named Song.
I always complimented her on her beautiful name.
