I blew a cheap subwoofer and am curious on how to fix it. It is a tube subwoofer if that helps, a 6 inch.

Well, you can dismantle it and see if it is just the speaker that is blown or the amp. If it is the speaker and if the speaker is a standard ohm, like 4 or 8 ohms, then you may be able to replace just the speaker. The easiest way to fix it, would be to replace the entire thing. I think even Radio Shack sells those little powered tube subs. Why did it blow to begin with? Was it installed correctly? You may just end up replacing it to have the same thing happen again. Just something to think about. You may want to talk to the techs at crutchfield.com since they are very knowledgeable and helpful.

Best thing you can hope to do for a temporary fix is to use silicon gasket maker. It has elasticity enough to handle the pounding of the speaker. Go to an autoparts store and ask for this stuff, 5 bucks and you are hearing the speaker again.
If the magnet is shot, then the speaker is shot.

If it's blown as in melted voice coil, replace the sub.
