I heard they should because they alone are saved by God and have the wisdom of God through Jesus meaning they know what God wants for humanity.
I disagree, though.

Absolutely not! Don't buy that load of nonsense. Think for yourself!

No, and I am a fundy! Not only that, I do not believe, and I have never heard any one of the leaders of the fundamentalist Christian leaders like Dobson or Falwell or Pat Robertson say, that this country should be ruled by only Christians. Nobody I know nor anybody that I have watched on TV, nor heard on the radio, thinks a Theocracy is a good thing for America. When we say that America is Christian country, we mean that the founding fathers' families came here for various religious reasons, mostly Christian, and never intended to exclude ANY religion from any part of the public discourse, most certainly not their own religion!
But I'm sorry, but if you are a good Baptist you just don't want the country to be exclusively Episcopalian, nor vice-versa. So if we wanted a Theocracy, we would be so divided and fractured we wouldn't have 50 states, we would have more than 500 states. The founding fathers just wanted people to be free to practice their own religion, not just one brand of Christianity like the England most of them fled. So they said that congress would not establish a national religion, like Anglican was the national religion of England.
What we believe is that Christians should not be tippy-toeing around the halls of Congress, the Supreme Court, The White House, City Hall, or the school hall pretending not to be religious. Free speech should be everywhere, not everywhere-but-government.

No, they shouldn't. The People rule... (well, at least that's what they tell us) ;o)

Let's take a look so far at a "Christian" *ruling* over America. He gets into office, someone attacks us on our own soil... he swears he's going to catch the people who did it... he gets frustrated after 8 months and then decides to kick someone else's *** over what happened. Then, after swearing to go after All Terrorists in the hopes of looking really cool on TV as the *World Police*... he almost hands over our main shipping ports to.... who else??? The Emirates... part of the whole "Axis of Evil". And what does this ruler tell us? God told him to do it.

No thanks. I want an Atheist in there for a while. Kill this "religious" high so many people are on... it's making them all think they're righteous.

True Christians do not get involved in politics; they remain neutral. Jesus said that his followers would be no part of the world. John 17:16

Certainly not.
I would like to see more atheists and/or wiccans.Or,better yet, people who just don't meddle in other people's religious affairs. People should be able to believe and do what ever they want as long as they are not violating the rights of others.

Religions can't seem to get along anywhere in the world. Separation of church and state has insulated us from violence in the US. If born againers seized power in a coup I would be a terrorist.

No. Religion should NEVER rule a country. It would give the religious rulers the excuses they need to start treating their people cruelly and remove freedom.
