I'm a sitter too and I use these three sites often, especially the last one. Good luck.

As for the one who doesn't go to sleep try warm milk, lavender bathsoap in her bath before bed (or if you don't bathe her, try lavender lotion) I try "quiet time" half an hour before bed: no tv, no games, only books, singing, and soft music.

Part of the problem is that when kids have a babysitter they get all excited and actually have a little more freedom to act "crazy" then they would if Mom and Dad were home. It does make life on you easier by letting the kinda do what they want but it also leads to things like getting off of schedule. Your best bet is to keep things structured similar to what the parents do. If the 5 yo goes to bed a 8pm then around 7:30 or so things need to start slowing down, toys get picked up, bedtime routine starts then time for bed. Keeping them in the routine helps in the long run. As for activities arts and crafts always are cool for every age. Look for ones on the internet that are cheap and use household items like bags and milk jugs. Good Luck

Simple games like, itsy bitsy spider, hickory dickory dock, etc are always popular. You can exercise with them, do stretching and jumping jacks. Have older ones answer math problems as fast as they can, depending on age, addition, multiplication, etc.

Getting a 5 year old to bed can be challenging, but books are always good. Get a book that is a relaxing story, like 'The Velveteen Rabbit', and read it in a very slow and nice voice, change your voice for each character. If you mess up, its okay, kids don't care. Just do that to keep the interest. The length of the story and captivation of your voice should help the sleepy head to drift off.

Play board games whith them that the parents will think of as 'constructive' like scrabble jr. Or if you're dealing with really little kids you might want to try something like Chutes and Ladders or Candyland. As for the misbehaving five year old, offer rewards if they do something right instead of giving punishments. Hope that helps!

I would give the kid a bath with Johnson&johnson lavendar bubble bath, it would calm him or her down! Then give them a warm drink and read them a story! It would relax the kid and then him or her will be fast asleep! Then for a activitie i would let them play with puzzles or playduh! Good Luck!
