How do I get fro Preston to Sanday in the Orkneys on a saturday in July?

going on holiday to the orkneys after a wedding on the friday in preston. want to be there by teatime, no flights will go on saturday (not that I can find) could drive but it's a long way??????

It is MEGA drive to Scrabster from where I live in Central
Scotland , but well worth it , the scenery is beautiful all the way ,
there is a Northlink ferry at noon and 18.30 on a Saturday, to
Stromness, the company are very user friendly, it maybe worth
checking their web site , but Orkney is a great place ,
