the "Special K" diet is nothing but marketing ploy for people to buy more Special K cereal.

if you replace a meal with a bowl full of special K when you normally would have consumed something that contains many more calories you may see a reduction in weight.

special k is a highly processed cereal. it contains many additives, preservatives and high-fructose corn syrup. it is not a truly "healthy" cereal, not even close.

if you replace one meal with whole oatmeal you can do the exact same thing but you will be eating something that is "actually" healthy for you that has substantially more nutrients, no artificial additives or preservatives and no high-fructose corn syrup.

the next time you are at the supermarket compare the list of ingredients of Special K to that of Quaker Whole Oats (not the instant variety). it is plan as day in black in white.

Im pretty sure its worth it because Ive been in it, as long as the milk is completly fat free and you eat the recommended portion at the back of the label, but you have to have it twice a day and make sure the other meal(s) is(are) not something saturated in fat or carbohydrates.

Example Day 1
Special K flakes- Breakfast
Grilled chicken and dressing free salad- Lunch
Apple- Snack (6pm)
Special K bar- dinner

Always remember to exercise

It "works" but I think you'd be better off just eating normal foods and following a healthy eating plan. It's a basic lowfat diet, but you can bet you'll be very hungry!

Yea if you stick to it it'll work. I ate the cereal and the snack bites and mixed it up with some Slim Fast shakes and I lost 25lbs in 2 months. Cut out fats and fried things...all fatty snacks must go, it works.

any ceral is full of carbs.... carbs go right to your "belly fat" my friend is trying that diet and she has lost like 5 lbs in 2 months, not really worth it ... she stays hungray, and skim milk... eewww, I have been dieting and I eat tuna sandwichs, rice cakes (they grow on you after a few days) water, diet coke, apples, whipped yogurt, jello, light stuff and I have lost close to 50 lbs! It took me 4 months.
