Many reasons.
1. If it was a bad break up why would you want to see that person again.
2. If it was a normal break up why would you want to see someone who used to make you feel special but now doesn't, or is going with someone else.
3. Hanging around an ex. is dangerous, considering you know things about him that no other person does and can also screw around future relationships....
Dunno what to tell you, there are hundreds of reasons.

I have no problems with being friends with my x-gf (or any girl for that matter). However, the question depends on the woman...because some ex's think that they will get back together if their new b/f doesn't work out....but with me it's a one time deal. If you dumped me, then you don't get a second chance. You made your choice, so you will have to live with the consequences.

That's wrong I'm best friend with my ex-girlfriend we dated 6 years ago for 2 years and now we are best pals no sex involve.

WHAT THE HELL!!!?!? are you serious first of all they KNOW everything about you!!! and then they use that sh*t agaisnt you when you get into an argument. They already know your weak spots and trust me they WILL use them!! So I've always said that "IF you're an X you're an X for a reason, and we shouldn't even be friends" That way I can spend most of my time worrying about finding new chicks than worrying about what my X will be telling people about me!!

u know this hit me hard,she broke up with me ,and with no reason ,and was rude ,i said i still wanna be friends and we stay in contact ,i dont love her ,but i like her friendship once in a while we can speak ,.she doesnt answer my e-mails ,and if on-line speaks back cold and is always busy,and said frankly dont call me i dont use my cell,she is strange ,i totally just let her go ,and she never conatced me till now,i made an effort a few times but its like hitting the wall no response

baby girl, since there are lingering feeling about her, and it's something that you can't just turn it off. so, the best solution is just not be friend with her. she's just someone i used to know.
