I have been researching possible parrots that I would like. I have narrowed down my choices to either an Eclectus or a Goffin Cockatoo. I would like one that is not that noisey but also a loving bird that is fun to interact with. Any opinions on which would be a better choice?

I vote for Eclectus. Actually, I just got a best answer about Eclectus personalities...You should read that. (just click on my name, and you can go to my answers, and then look at best answers...I think it's just a few down.)

Eclectus's, especially the males are freakin' awesome. I've never met one that wasn't receptive to human interaction, and while they're not all super cuddly birds, the ones I know aren't opposed to a little lovin' now and then.

Good luck! Eclectus's are one of the coolest species. They rarely have screaming or biting issues and they're just always fun to be around!

I don't know alot about Eclectus parrots from experience. I however do own a Goffin Cockatoo. He is a clown. Loves attention. Is a good talker. Escape artist. Laughs and talks funny. LOL I love him!

Goffin's cockatoos are noisy, but the breed has a reputation of being cuddly. Ekkies are in general not cuddly. There is a great article about them in the last issue of bird talk.

If this is your first bird I would go with a smaller bird.
