baby showers?? I have been told i should have one (didnt have one with my son) and I am just wondering what the point of them is? And what do you ACTUALLY do???

It's a celebration of your little baby coming into the world. Although for most people it's just a time to get gifts. Usually you eat food, play baby games, talk, and open presents. It helps new moms to get all of the things they may not otherwise be able to afford for their baby.

It's really a celebration of Motherhood! It isn't a bad thing and it doesn't have to be all girly! For my baby shower we invited both Men and Women, made a bunch of food and opened presents!
Most of the baby showers I have been too were pretty girly though! Lots of silly games, lots of girl talk and bunches of silly gifts for the Mommy to be. No matter which way you do it, it's all about having fun! What could be wrong with that?

the point of havin a baby shower is celebrate basically, you invite women or men too to chat about things to help you during the pregnancy, ppl can buy you presents for your baby to help you get started, you can play games if you want to. the point is to have fun!!!! once the baby is born you'll be too busy and tired to entertain other ppl. You dont have to have one but they are very helpful!!!

Mainly it's an excuse for women to go buy super cute baby stuff, then gather together in a group and eat sugary sweet cake and oooohhhh and aaaahhhhh overy every little outfit. But seriously, it's to help a new mom with things for the baby.

its really just a party to celebrate the upcoming arrival. You serve appetizers and punch, people bring cute baby things and you play silly games. Its really just a fun way for everybody to remember their own pregnancies and congratulate you on yours (and it gives everyone an excuse to visit the baby department and pick out a gift for you).

it's just a celebration of having a baby. usually a bunch of women get together and have snacks and play games. and you get presents of course. there are really nice with your first child since most people don't have a lot of baby things.
