thousand Island

No fat or Low fat mayo approx 1 cup
ketchup- enough to give it flavor but not taste like ketchup
relish- to taste depending on if you want sweet then sweet relish or dill if you prefer it that way. I really don't have a specific recipe but I mix it to taste
mix all ingredients together to taste

Creamy low fat Italian dressing
1 cup low fat sour cream
2 tbs red wine vinegar
1 tbs each grated Parmesan cheese,lemon juice, and honey
1 clove garlic minced
2 green onions white parts only minced
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/4 tsp each salt and pepper
combine all ingredients in a bowl and refrigerate for an hour
mix well before using
this will keep for 3-4 days in the refrigerator in a tight covered jar

If you use a bit of mustard in a vinagrette it will thicken the consistency and depth of flavor. I sometimes put in a small amount of low-fat mayo to make a vinagrette even creamier. using plain yogurt as a base instead of oil is yummy too. very tangy.

use low call yogurt as your base for a dressing, it's creamy, you can add your favorite spices to that and it will taste really good, i always use yogurt as my base
