Curious because some religions allow forgiveness for even the most barbaric sins, while others don't. I know I'm asking you to pass judgment here, but what's your best explanation?

Gives a whole new meaning to "Take, eat; this is my body."

Is Jeff Dahmer still alive? If the answer is yes, he's not IN Heaven, yet ... and only GOD can really tell if his 'repentance' and asking for forgiveness of his sins and 'accepting Jesus as his savior' is REAL or not. And I'm one who thinks that it's good that it's UP TO GOD and not to 'my judgement' ... but to be totally HONEST, if he's in Heaven when I die, I hope he lives in a 'neighborhood' at the other side of Heaven from where I live, because what he did was so bad. I can FORGIVE him with my heart, but I still have a 'very doubtful' HEAD.

Only God knows. To become a Christian it has to be a decision made with your heart, soul and mind, not just lip service to save yourself from hell. Who but God knows that kind of info about anyone. If a person, however, truly has repented and is honest before God then that person's sins are forgiven and the person will go to Heaven. People think of sin in degrees of badness, for lack of a better word, but to God all sin is rotten it is not in degrees of badness, it is all bad. Only Christ can take that sin away as far as the east is from the west. Thank God for Jesus.

When someone dies, they have paid for their sins. "Wages sin pays in death" Romans 6: 23 The bible shows the dead are asleep in the grave awaiting a resurrection. "Resurrection of the righteous and the unrighteous" Acts 24: 15

Only God can read his heart and make the decision to resurrect him or not.

"For the living are conscious that they will die, but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten." "All that your hand finds to do, do with your very power, for there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor widom in Sheol, the place to which you are going." Ecclesiastes 9: 5 & 10

"Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, those who practiced vile thing to a resurrection of judgement." John 5: 28 & 29

I also have heard that Jeffery Dahmer repented, and accepted Christ before he was murdered while in prison.
If this is true then he is in Heaven right now, and one day I will talk to him about why he did those things.

"All sin and fall short of the glory of God"
If he was sincere he was forgiven....
The bible says "To be absent from the body is to be present with the lord'
We don't await the resurrection in a grave-not biblical who ever said it. Also Jesus said, "Today you will be with me in paradise" to the man on the cross next to him.
