We have a nesting pair in our area and we recently adopted 2 small (8 weeks old) puppies. I have now see them in the trees around our house when I take the puppies out. Just wondering if they could be snatched up?

Yes! Be very careful when letting your puppies out. Even with close supervision, the puppies can be snatched up in a heartbeat.

Yes.
We have had a huge population growth of American Eagles and there are a lot of farmers in particular, where small pets are taken.
It is usually a cat or very small dog.
If the bird of prey is a smaller bird then you don't have to worry as much. But if it is an eagle then you should go outside with the puppies when they need to go out.

The Eagles are down at the local market right now, buying mustard and two bibs..Don't know what kind of twetty bird you have.. The small Marsh Hawk in my back field has done in 8 of my small chickens. It's eying my cat. By the way the Marsh Hawk is a small, double robin sized bird bird...Bald Eagles and their pals the Golden Eagles will bump off a small Mountain Goat with no trouble. They would fly off with your pouch..Keep a close eye on your puppies. Of course it depends on what size chickadee you have..

Absolutely! Even birds smaller than your puppies could snatch them up! Always supervise your animals when they are outside.

My aunt's cat was snatched and the bird actually carried it over the 8 foot block fence and ate it in the greenbelt behind her house! Scary!

We have 8 parakeets that we keep outside in a huge cage and yesterday a hawk came up to the cage and tried to get them even through the bars! Super scary!

Protect your animals at all times!!!!

Good luck!

Thought this would be of interest-

We recently had a young (10 year old?) boy in the area who made the front page of the newspaper because he fought off a red-tailed hawk that had grabbed his puppy. He snatched it from the air and punched it until it released the dog. be careful!

Yes, they will. A couple months ago my mother told me about a hawk who carried off an adult chihuahua.

The birds of prey can't really tell a puppy between a rat or a mouse, so whenever you see the birds, run inside with them!

I have five chihuahuas, and that's one thing my vet warned me about. Birds of prey, like eagles, falcons, hawks, vultures, etc.. can very easily grab a small animal and take off with them. Never leave the dogs outside on their own, even when they get older, especially if they are a small breed. Alway's go out with them, and bring them back inside with you. There is also the threat of other predators, besides birds. When you're out with them, just keep your eyes and ears open for any type of predator. Scary Huh!

OH YES a hawk or eagle will swoop down, get your puppy, fly off, and I don't even want to say the rest!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE be careful !!!!!!!!! I'd contact Wildlife authorities and ask for some suggestions on how to prevent them from hanging around your house. I'd even be leery about the birds even if I was outside with the pups.

I have a video tape taken with my cell phone when a Hawk swooped down in my Neighbors yard and grabbed her Chihuahua.

It carried the Dog away to the forest. I just happened to be there when I heard the yelping and seen this big Red Tail Hawk fly of with the Chihuahuha, so I grabbed my cell phone and filmed a short clip on video.
I have been told not to put it on youtube,, because it is very sad.

Yes. Keep a close eye on your furbabies and the hawks. A raptor will snatch up anything the size of a grown cat or smaller.
