I don't know, they shouldn't really have a problem with it as they are all friendly terms. Maybe it's not the words but the blokes saying it. If some creepy guy that you can't stand starts calling you sweetheart then it will probably get on your nerves, but if some nice chappy says it then that would be fine. I usually call girls poppet and they seem like it.
I wouldn't mind any girl using those term on me

I think that nicknames like those are often taken as diminutive and/or sexist and demeaning. Who are you to call a woman you do not know sweetheart? Why should a woman be referred to as a flower - if they don't recognize themselves as at all like a flower? Those names sound weak and girly, not strong and womanly. I personally love it when someone who knows me gives me a nickname or uses a pet name, but when a person I don't know uses one I think they are implying a familiarity with me that they just do not have.

For the most part I don't mind but I hate the term "hon" as in short for honey because the only time I hear it is when a couple is on the brink of divorce or separation (I don't know why)
I also HATE to be called "Kiddo" by anyone.

Some names are fine while others just sound stupid. For instance some name that are acceptable are: sweetheart, darlin, honey, sugar..... Some that are not: sweetcheeks, sugarplum....crap like that makes me wanna vomit! Yuck.

Doesn't bother me either tho I spent some time in Humberside and this particular neighbour always called everyone duck which I found a bit annoying so I just used to quack at her.

I think it is what the women believe the men are really thinking when they call them those things.

I'm not sure, I don't have a problem with it and neither do my friends, heck we even call our best guy friends darlin and that's just because we're southern like that and they get a kick out of it. Good luck and thanks for the two points.

I dont really care just as long as its nothing stupid like someone said before. For example i wouldnt like it if someone called me a ho or soemthing. But other names like you said are good.

Some girls may not like it because they may think that they forgot their name or something.

Because it is generic and usually means they have had so many women, in a quick succession of time, that they don't bother to remember your name!

I like it. It's a sign of affection. You can call a man honey, dear, mmm, but my guy likes to be called **** head, so maybe you should ask before you speak
