It would be a further insult to Americans. If it were not done now, at this time, it might be an interesting idea.
The truth of the matter is, as in line with the rest of the lies Americans are being fed daily, the language is part of our official language. You can't go to any government building without there being both Spanish and English posted for all business.
This sort of thing is what Americans are getting more and more angry about. They are being told lies and cheated. The outcome will be ongoing anger at those who speak other languages and dislike/disappointment with the concept of Democracy and Americanism. Witness America in a downward spiral ...perhaps to it's own end.

No because I'm sure there's lots of other immigrant groups that would like to have everything in their language too instead of learning English. Why should they have to learn 2 languages to come here when it's required to learn English for citizenship? When does it end? Speak whatever you want at home....I don't care. I'll pick what other language I want to learn to keep my brain cells firing. I already know 2 other languages....Spanglish just isn't one of them. Leaning towards Klingon if I decide to prevent dementia any further.

Although, there is a large number of Spanish speakers visiting and living in the U.S., it would be absurd to make Spanish an official language of the United States. Considering that the U.S. is conflux with many different cultures and with many different languages, to make Spanish an official language will effectuate a onslaught of outcries.

I am hispanic my mother from California and my father from Columbia. I speak spanish and english. But I feel the United States caters to much spanish language and is not fair. When entering the USA you should learn the language or at least attempt to. Apon entering other contries they expect you to know their language, Why is any different here? One person should learn English not the whole country learn Spanish!

Spanish isn't an stable language of usa of america. usa of america has no stable language. maximum human beings assume that english is the stable language of usa of america, yet to this element, usa of america has not declared or formally observed an "stable" language. there have been tries in congress to have an replace made to the U.S. shape to make english the stable language, yet so a techniques all tries have failed.

Why would you want to do that to fellow Latinos?

You know full well that many make no effort to learn English, therefore, they will not benefit from the bilingual health advantages you speak of. Sounds like you want gringo domination.

Additionally, why are you so Spanish-Centric in your thinking. What makes you think that I don't prefer to be bilingual in English/Mandarin or English/German or English/Swahili.

Get over yourself!

That is just wonderful. Personally I support teaching more than one language in our schools.

However, there needs to be a universal standard language used for official business. The traditional language of this country is English and needs to officially recognized as such, if for no other reason than to keep us from having to provide all government documents in English, Spanish, German, Cantonese, Swahili, etc...

It would be good to force some people to learn something else.

You racists should at least appreciate the fact that those immigrants can learn a new language in no time!

NO WAY! Its funny, you can go to Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Czech Republic, hell, even go to a farm in china and people can speak english. Why is it that immigrants from spanish speaking countries can't learn it? Perhaps they have a learning curve that does not allow them to keep up with the rest of the world, even farmers in remote lands of China.
