I can never choose from all the many varieties of martinis out there. Does anyone have any good suggestions? I like the fruity martinis, but am experimental.

I guess if you need a fruity one you can order an appletini. If you want a real martini though just ask for a classic martini. Anything other than gin, vermout and an olive isn't really a martini.

I would recommend a Pomegranate martini or Sour Apple.
Poms are sweet but many bars do not make them because pomegrante juice and pomegranate liqeur are both expensive. Sour Apples are available most anywhere and have a good taste that I would not describe as "sour-y."

There is also a lemon drop martini that has sugar on the rim but that one can be more on the sour side.

There are several martinis that utilize raspberry but my experience has been that often times, it's more vodka tasting than fruity.

A martini is gin (not vodka) and vermouth, and I do wish people would call those other things something else. Most now have no resemblence to a martini at all. Think of juniper berries as a fruit if it makes you feel better, and order any drink you want, but for God's sake let's have a little sanity in language.

Green Apple Martini or Washington Apple Martini. The latter is actually red. A Midoritini is actually melon, and it's DELICIOUS. They're fruity and fun, but common enough that almost any bartender won't give you a funny look. They're not classic martinis, but they're tasty and fun cocktails.

Have fun!

Ask your server which is the most popular martini there...or his or her personal favorite. Or pick from 3 your like and then ask your server which is best out of the three.

Sounds like you're leading a tough life there....LOL.

Have fun when you go out!

Caramel apple martini-appletini with caramel rim, lemon drop-just like lemonade with sugar rim, and chocolate martinis are always fun and really good.

Those aren't martinis, they're just mixed drinks in a martini glass. Real martinis are vodka or gin, vermouth, and an olive or two.

That being said, just pick one out that looks like it'll taste good to you. But please, don't call it a martini.

Have you ever had a green apple martini? I had one at this fancy restaurant not too long ago and it had extremely thin slices of green apple in it. It tasted like a candy apple and it was really good!
