#1 because it's really awkward when you don't, I've tried it
#2 because it shows the other person that you're focusing on them and not just the things that are happening around you at the time

Sometimes I leave them open just seeing her smile when we kiss makes it even better and more emotional.But don't let it be known or seen you'll look stupid doing it.

u could say dat u r living in da moment but people can have their eyes wide open and still be in da moment so i'm guessin dat it all depends on da person

It makes it less awkward. If ou have them open its like your staring at the person. Which is well kind of awkward.
