It depends. Are they over at meal time - if so Tuna Noodle Casserole is fast and easy - very 'homey'. If it's in the middle of the day, I always have frozen cookie dough on hand - pre measured. Just pop them into the oven, and 15 minutes later, warm, fresh cookies. If it's fancier stuff you want, a chocolate fondue is easy enough. With fresh fruit, some wine... You're good to go ;)

The easiest thing to make is Pasta,
You can put anything in it
I found by having cream, bacon garlic and onion in the fridge
Pasta in the cupboard
Simple and done in 20
Put the pasta on the boil
to a frying pan add bacon, onion, garlic, salt and pepper herbs if you like. when cooked add cream simmer until pasta is cooked
You can thicken with a corn flour mixture
add raw egg to pasta and mix in
then top pasta with Cream sauce
and serve
Tomato paste is also an alternative to cream
Good Luck

Calzones - buy refrigerator pizza dough (like Pilsbury), cheese, pizza sauce, pepperoni, mushrooms, etc. Lay out the dough, put everything on half of it, fold it over, seal it and brush it with olive oil, sprinkle with garlic salt. Bake it in 375 degree oven for like 10-13 minutes or until golden brown. Very easy and delicious.
