Pull him or her aside when they're not making a speech (or giving a lecture if it's a teacher), and say that you've been meaning to ask if they misheard you or something because your name is pronounced (say it). The person will probably feel so horrified that they'll be apologizing all over themselves.
It makes people feel less bad if you assume (for them) that it was something YOU'VE done to cause the confusion.

I have the same problem, my name is SaDe (pronounced Sha-day like the singer) but people (mainly my college instructors) often mispronounce my name calling me Sadie and other variations of the name. I just keep telling them the correct pronunciation, they apologize and most of the time they get it right (eventually) but then there are others who never get it right. I suppose one way I could do it is write the pronunciation in parenthesis next to my name on assignments. One person told me that older people have a problem pronouncing my name because the name, the way it is spelled, has become popular only recently and older adults are more familiar with Sadie which was popular when they were growing up.

I would suggest that you have a nick name like a shortform of your name or something. Like for example, if your name is Donna Jones go with DJ, cool hmm?
I would not correct someone, as far as I know he is calling me, who cares?

Correct name pronunciation is blown out of proportion. What's the big deal about it?

You don't. Seriously. Just let them cal you whatever. Correcting them will just make them feel stupid. And then they won't like you. Especially if you do it in front of people. Who cares, let them call you whatever they want. Does it really matter?

Next time say, "Actually, its Ramon" then when they apologize, say "no problem, I just wanted to be sure you knew who to praise when evaluations come up!"
FTR -- this is why you do not give your kids dumb, unpronounceable names!!!
