This cat lie's in waiting. My friends dog trotted past a bush and the cat attacked the dog. His one eye was in shreds and his nose was torn open. Now my point is would that cat be destroyed, like if a dog attacked a cat it would probably be put to sleep. Am i wrong?? Just curious. TKU.

His eye was in shreds? This sounds like a serious attack.
The cat owner should pay for veterinary care.
Cats usually avoid confrontation, or just defend themselves. It is really unusual for a cat to attack and cause this kind of damage, but I have heard of it. A cat that attacks can be really dangerous; this cat's behavior needs to be looked at.

I have no idea if the dog would be put down but if there is proof of attack (dog attack cat or cat attack dog) People that own the attacker should pay for any damages. A dog that would attack a cat would be a big question because if it would do such a thing, would it do it to a child? I have never heard of cat attacks on children where the cat was put down.

That is really unusual.

Most times the dog chases the cat. The cat gets trapped and the claws come out. The dog learns a life lesson.

Are you sure you have the story straight?

If the cat is owned by someone, I suppose your freind can ask the owner to share in the vet's bills. Otherwise, I don't think you can press that the cat be destroyed. Cats are cats and in the absence of laws specifying that cats be leashedor otherwise confined, you can only appeal to the cat owner's compassion to at least foot part of the vet bills.

One of my cats is aggressive and will attck any other animal that ventures into his territory. I KNOW this and as a responsible pet owner, I never allow him to roam or be out in the yard unattended or without his harness and leash. If I cannot be with him when he wants to be outdoors, I put him in his outdoor enclosure - a huge chainlink fenced kennel meant for a dog.

We cannot blame the animals - they will do as their instincts and personalities dictate. What we can do is understand them and make the appropriate adjustments. What happened to your freinds poor doggie is sooooo unfortunate and beleive me, I do feel very bad for him.

I think that all, and I mean ALL dogs should be put down anyway, cat attackers or not. But cats are naturally vicious and killers, but dogs are not so much, and cats can't do as much harm to a human as a crazy dog can, so no, I don't think it'll be killed.

GO CATS!!!

Haha....that's a cat for ya! The cat would not be destroyed (nore a dog for killing a cat). The cat should be licenced and tattooed though as well it is illegal for a cat to "roam" the neighboorhood in some areas (out of their property that is). So the dog owner could always fine the cat owner, but that's about it...

I don't think they'd put the animal to sleep if it was the cat or dog who was the attacker as long as the owner took responsibility for the vet bills.

the reply for your question and the reason your canines received't give up chasing your cats became all solved once you reported one ordinary word " ALL of our canines are small "Terriers". Terriers were bred to seek/capture and kill small prey. Terriers actually have between the utmost prey drives of any canines breed so it basically is sensible that that that they had continually chase your cats. Terriers do not do nicely with ANY SMALL ANIMAL at the same time as not right educated/socialized. even at the same time as socialized some do poorly. you should really take into consideration the canines breed you desire to get previously getting it. that's in all probability your cats will nonetheless be pestered, no be counted how nicely you tried to coach them. the basically imagine conceivable do is confine. remove the canines are cats. those canines are basically being genuine to their breed nature.

you might have a good point there
but then the laws about cats and dogs are strange here's another one for you:
If a dog is run over you have to stop its against the law if you don't but if you run over a cat you can keep going.
some people can argue about 'its about size' but we all know that size doesn't matter ;) dogs can be smaller than cats.
