My son is 12 yrs old and does not like any vegtables, he only like potatoes and macaroni and cheese and any meat for supper. He does like celery, carrots raw but thats about it. He wants to lose weight cause he is overweight but how do i get him to do that with a limited liking to foods that are good for him?

Well, I admit that I used to be a picky eater in my younger years, but there was something with healthy vegetables in it that I just couldn't refuse. Try making your own vegetable beef soup, with whatever vegetables you would like him to eat. The taste of the vegetables isn't so apparent since they are soaked in the broth of the soup. He might just like it.

I also have a son that is a picky eater. You do need to monitor how much junk food he eats, but you can't force him to eat foods he doesn't like. Encourage him to eat the carrots and celery as snacks. Also, as far as being overweight goes, get him involved in an activity that gets him moving, either a team sport or karate, or perhaps swimming at a local YMCA or other gym. Make sure he is taking a good multi-vitamin supplement (ask doctor what they recommend). Limit soda and juice, and try to get him to drink more water.

He must be eating alot of other foods (deep fried, sweets, potato chips etc). My son was very picky until about 16, then he started eating everything in site. Your son needs to get more active, and cut down on the high calorie stuff, (pizza, Mc'Ds). He is old enough to take some control of his eating. Make fast food a treat for a sucessful week, It will be healthier for YOU too. Good luck

Stop giving him the foods that aren't good for him. Quit buying the mac and chees and potatoes. Put dinner in front of him and if he doesn't eat leat him go hungry, eventually he will eat, when he gets hungry enough.

Tell him his penis won't grow if he doesn't eat his vegetables. Or you could do what my dad did. He got so mad at my picky eating that he pushed my face into a plate of food once. It shocked me at the time seeing vegetable stew all over my face, but we laugh about it now.

well with him only being 12 years old. i would let him know that you are the parent and he is the child. as long as he doesnt have any medical problems that would prevent him from eating a veriety of foods then i would let him know he eats it or does without.

tell him to. He might sneak behind your back to get fatty foods, but at home you are the parent.
