Salat -

Salat is prayer.

A muslim must pray 5 times a day -

If a Muslim misses a Prayer, he can make it up.

You don't get sins for missing Prayer if you're sick, traveling, in school, working, ect.

Before Prayer, they must do Wadu - When they cleanse themselves with just water (No soap is needed, because water is pure) - Or if no water is available - Sand -

Because water AND sand are both pure.

No, it doesn't mean throw sand in your face.

Muslims must wash their left and right arm three times each, then their face/ears/hair once, and then their feet/ankles three times each.

Peace.
