you no those big blow up tourniques they put on patients arms/legs and pump up before surgery (to i assume ease bleeding when they make the incision). How do they work????

They are inflated to a pressure to impede bleeding but to allow for venous return. This is usually somewhere between your top and bottom blood pressure readings which is why they have a gauge on them
