It's not a chromosomal disorder, but it IS inhereted, at least in some cases. Dyslexia can pop up as a new mutation in a child with no family history of it, and it can even be aquired as the result of brain damage, but there is also at least one inherted mutant allele that can cause dyslexia.

There's a dominant mutation on the short arm of chromosome 6 that is believed to cause dyslexia. There are also at least two more genes that have been identified as playing a role in dyslexia, and there are thought to be at least a dozen genes that are involved.

Dyslexia is not a chromosomal disorder and is not inherited. It is a developmental disorder. Marfan syndrome is inherited and Trisomy 21 (Down's Syndrome) is chromosomal.
