I have a Finepiz Fuji digital camera, and mislaid the USB cable which downloads hte photos onto the computer. I ordered a new one on the net, and it seems to fit in both the camera and the USB port, yet when I connect it, nothing happens. Before, it would start up the downloading program immediately. I have also tried clicking on the program and opaning it up manully, but still, nothing happesn. Any suggestions please?

Try a different USB port. The one you are using may have went bad. If not, the cord is probably faulty. You can buy a USB port at Wal-Mart with multiple attachments to fit many different size cameras. Try one of these. If that works, send the net USB cord back for a refund.

Best wishes

Hi I also have a FinePix Fuji digital camera and exactly the same thing used to happen, I tried re-installing it and at first it helped and the transfer wizard opened up fine and all the pictures/video transferred no problem, after a few times transferring it stopped working again so I then downloaded Adobe photoshop which you can get free on Download.com and installed that on my P.C and now when I connect my camera to the USB port Adobe opens up straight away and transfers all the pictures nice and easily. Its worth try. Good Luck!

I had one and connected the lead to the camera upside down - it seemed to fit ok but I realised that i had some how short-circuited the connection and it never work again - hope you haven't done this - check for a faint burning smell on the camera connection point

It is possible that the cable is specifically made for this camera. Contact Fuji and see if this is correct. Explain to them the problem, and since it is their product they should know. They may have advice on any needed drivers

i have the same camera and when you connect the camera make sure you switch the camera on so you can get the pictures from the camera. Also, if you are using a card why don't you get yourself a card reader.

Try reinstalling the software for your digital camera, after that, it will probably work. If it still doesn't, refund your new cable, and get another one.
