My boxer is a clown. I have a 2 1/2 year old male boxer and he loves his attention. He'll take this big tug rope we have and hit himself with it, then act like it insulted him and growl at it. He also runs around the house top speed when he's bored, and he'll "talk" when he wants to go outside. He's our brindle prince. How about your boxer?

spnk - I wish mine would be serious sometimes! haha!

Debbie - Aww! I wonder if it's just boxers though? Mine is deathly afraid of loud noises. He runs and hides.

Chihuahua - that trick is adorable!

JCSquardo - He sounds awesome! I wish my boxer could learn like that. He knows how to sit and hug and down and stuff, but when it comes to "get back over here! you don't belong on the neighbor's property!" it's like he's suddenly gone deaf. Is your dog as stubborn as mine? Lol.

madjenn - I hope he takes forever to calm down. He has a 3 month old pit bull puppy to keep up with so he'd better not calm down until she does! Lol. I think he's the only thing that keeps her from having enough energy to destroy the house. Don't tell him he can scale the fence though! We don't want him to know that! Shhhh! =)

W. - I completely agree. Boxers aren't dogs. They're clowns with loyalty.

Mustang - Both of those boxers sound like lots of fun. Mine attacks the trash can when we go down the hill. When he's tired of playing with Roxi, our pit bull, he'll lay his chest on her and pin her to the ground. She hates it. =)

mee2angel - he sounds like a very determined boxer and a sweetheart. ours doesn't woof - he does this weird whine thing that the only word I can come up with for it is talking.

Just got a new Boxer Pup 2 weeks ago and he is great. Definitely a clown as well. Though a very smart one so far.
At just under 11 weeks he is learning like crazy. He already can come, sit, shake and dance. He also has learned the only way to get onto the couch or bed is to sit quietly first.

The other day he ran into me nieces tickle me Elmo, I wish I would have filmed it, funniest thing I have ever seen. He was baffled by it's movement and sounds.

I have a boxer named Zeus, I call him Bubba for the most part, and he makes me laugh every single day. He's rather old for a boxer... pushing 11 soon! He still plays with his "babies" and "woobies" all day long. He doesn't growl at them when they "hit" him, though; that is hilarious! Watch out for leaping. Zeus could leap like a deer when he was younger. They can scale 6-foot fences, too. Your baby is still so young. He will calm down with age, but not much. Aren't boxers just the best dogs ever!? They have the best faces and personalities. They really need to be a part of your "pack." They're not back yard dogs by any means! I gave Zeus his own myspace account. There is a HUGE boxer community on myspace. He has way more friends than I do!

I have a 10 year old male Boxer named Tucker, this dog so funny he does the cutest trick, you ask him "how precious can you be" and he cocks his head to the side and puts his paw in the air as high as he can get it and waves at you, it is darling. He is smart, beautiful and just a big love. He is really big for a Boxer, he looks scary but he has a heart of gold. Boxers are a wonderful breed.

I have owned Boxers since 1988 - I fell in love with one owned by the caretakers of a cabin resort I stayed in as a child, and as soon as I was on my own got my first one, while working for vets. Bull's-Eye was a 'boo-boo' (white), and the best dog ever. When I sat on the couch, he would back up to me & I had to cross my ankles & he sould sit on them, kind of hammocking his hiney. Whenever he ate, he would come to me to pat his stomach till he 'burped', then wag his stump in appreciation before going on his merry way. At night, when he was tired, he would go back to the bedroom, wait a few minutes, then come back up the hall to glare at me - once, twice, then he would do that famous Boxer heavy *sigh*, look disgusted & go in there to sleep by himself. He had his schedule!

The Boxer I have now (#3) is an AKC champion fawn & white male (Ch. Box O' Joy's Let's Roll [AKA 'Chip'] - I have a story about him on my 360 page). His favorite thing is to 'attack' through a throw blanket: when I am reading on the couch, he will come up & quietly get under the throw - then start nibbling my elbow with it over his head & mouth. I scream "AHHHH!!! A biting blanket!" which makes his stump go in circles. This means it is time to play & do something fun with HIM - quiet reading time is OVER!

I have met all kinds of breeds at the vet & at dog shows - nothing compares to a Boxer, in my eyes.

He sounds like a barrel of fun! I, too have a Brindle female. She is gr-r-r-eat! Nothing like a Boxer. I got her when she was 4 months old. She is so spoiled. She loves to play, hates loud noises and loves to play with her friends (my Sheltie and Poodle).

I almost forgot! "Lady" knows the difference is her left paw and right paw...my husband taught her well. If you ask her for a "left shake" she will give you her left paw and same with her right.
Ohhh,....I love her so much!

I have a 3 month old Brindle Boxer her name is Destiny Von. A real joy to have around. She really makes me laugh when she plays with my two cats. No one wins when they are done playing. She also flits around like a bouncing ball when she wants to play. Lots of speed and energy. She also pouts with her lips when you don't pay attention to her. She loves to carefully grab your wrist like Lassie show to try lead you to where she wants something. Usually her treat box. Smart puppy.

Ours is a boxer/shepherd but he's just as silly as a boxer, and can be very serious like a shepherd, we have the best of both worlds here:)

my boxer is also a clown. he talks to us all the time. when he wants your attention and does not get it he will come and sit on your feet and chew lightly on them. he loves to play especially with my children. he chases and barks at my 6 year old grand daughter when she rides her barbie motorcycle because he is afraid she is going to get hurt. he also plays with my cats. they play hide and seek around my house plants. its so funny. when he wants outside he will come to our chair or the bed if it is night time and with his jaw ls all blowed out start woofing. he is very determined most of the time and wont let up till you get up.we love him to pieces.
