It's interesting, because my mother and sister in law have discussed this very same issue several times, and they have decided to agree that they'll never agree. My nieces are now 7 and 9 and they've both worn flip flops or clogs, or slip on sandals since they are tiny- probably 3 like your girl. My mother thinks it's dopey since on occassion they step out of the flip flop and stub their toe, or twist their foot, and she thinks if they wore something sturdier, this would not happen (or as often). My sister in law says it's what the girls like, and want to wear, so if they stub their toe once in awhile, they'll just have to cry and get over it. Neither has been seriously injured or cut, so..... now they're a little older, and can cope with any accidents better. So- she may stub her toe, she may not. And just for arguments sake, my SIL, their mother, cut her toe at a store and needed stitches, last summer, wearing sandles, at a store, so accidents can happen, to adults too.

No, they aren't dangerous! Maybe if the flip flops had a heel, but as long as there is no heel, she should be fine. My daughter is 2 and she likes wearing the little plastic heel shoes they sale in the toy isle and she is a pro walking around in thoughs ha ha.
The only thing that I noticed when I bought a pair of flip flops from Old Navy last summer is the part in between her toes were hurting her toes. So as long as she is comfortable go for it!

My neighbor's 3 year old daughter started wearing flip flops at the age of 2 and had no problems with it. Perhaps you should buy her a pair and see how she walks around in them at home. If she stumbles too much, I'm afraid they'll not be allowed for use outside of the home. Each child is different and it's best to see how your child reacts to this new product.

My daughter has been wearing flip flops for the last 2 yrs. (she will be 5 next week) You can get the ones with the strap across the back, but my daughter always pulled that down under the back of her shoe. Yea, they can be tricky for a toddler to walk in.. but if she is already playing dress up in yours.. she may not have any problems.

I can think of a million things that are more unsafe than flip flops, like riding in a car, or crossing the street! Tell him to chill out!!!

Buy her a pair and don't let her wear them at the park. Your husband probably thinks she will step on glass, a nail, dog crap etc and therefore they are unsafe. Just let her wear them on dry, clean areas like the mall. Don't let small stuff get to you.

I have two kids, 6 & 4. They both wore flip flops all summer long & neither one of them had any problems, I actually was happy cause they were much easier to have them put on themselves cause all they had to do was slip their feet & not have to mess with any buckles. They wore them all over the place, I actually had to buy each of them new pairs last summer because they had wore them out.

Haha, i think ya. Too many all and diverse is making an attempt to be the subsequent Immortal technique or Vinnie Paz 2.0, and they don't realize that what makes those rappers large is they are easily rhyming about something and they don't in basic terms pull out the rhyming dictionary and seem for the biggest words. "My verbage disassembles your vocal hollow area Casually I ravage college and reason a lyrical calamity" they want me to study that sh*t and pretend like that is the dopest concern I ever heard. yet somewhat I study that and all i'll imagine is, "ok... best for you."

I would get her a pair and "test drive" them in the house before you go out to make sure that there won't be any problems. You could also get her a pair that has back straps, so the risk of them falling of is eliminated. Take care! :)
