ok i have a rover 214 and have replaced the head unit, can anyone tell me what size the speakers are which go in the front doors?

also is there anywhere for tweeters, i cant see any ?

and a general question now...... 6x9 speakers ?
i know they go in the parcel shelf but how do they get there, do you have to cut the holes out yourself of do u buy a pre-cut parcel shelf?

if you have to cut yourself, is there a template you can buy so you dont scre up?

cheers

i got a peugeot 106 and that takes 5.25'' speakers so i would imagine yours would be fairly similar otherwise maybe a 6''. the 6x9s. you can buy what is called a stealth shelf which are precut and they actually hide the speakers at the same time, i think they are around 65 pounds depending on your car. or you take the cheaper option which most people do and cut the holes into your existing parcel shelf. when i fitted mine there was a template scored into the box, if you cut that out and then you can draw the shape with a felt tip pen onto your parcel shelf which will give u a guide to cut with either a jig saw or a small hack saw. and then you just drill some holes in the correct places to bolt down the 6x9s because they will give a bit of a kick. really easy job will take you half an hour maximum

Depends which generation of Rover 214 you have.
If it is an R8 Rover 214 (late 1989 to 1995) I don't think there is anywhere obvious for tweeters.
If you have an R3 Rover 214 (late 1995 to late 1999, when it became the Rover 25) there are grilles for tweeters in the front door-pull surrounds, which are easily removed (one screw behind the door pull, and gently remove). There are little blanking panels on the backs of these grilles which twist to remove. You may have to modify your tweeter housings slightly so they fit securely by the same method.
