When I have accidents on the carpet with my guys, I wait for it to completely dry, then scrape it off. If you scrape it good, it usually removes all the poop. If you still have color left over on the spot, resolve usually removes that.

I wait until it dries and then use the tube attachment on my dyson hoover - this takes it up a treat - and there's never any colour left as long as it's completely dry - by the way - make sure the hoover is turned on.
