Well it sounds to me like you need to spend a little bit of time away from them. Its cool if you don't want to drink all the time, when people are just starting out drinking it's allot of fun, but for a small period they may get a little bit out of control, every person who first drinks always does. tell them your there friend, but that your not really that into drinking. I have friends that drink all the time, they are fun in small doses, but thats about all. I don't drink like they do, but I tell them that i will always be there friend but i'm not going to drink and party as much as they do. They respect that, and your friends should too. If they don't then I would look for a new group of friends. Hope this helps.

As we grow up our ideas change and so do we. Friends when we were 12 or 13, may not be friends we want when we are 17 or 18. People change and you may be right that they are just not for you anymore. It will be ok, you will make new friends that are more like you and have more interests in line with yours. This is natural.

You sound like a much more mature person than your "friends". You apparently have outgrown them or they just haven't grown up at all. Try joining some school clubs with activities that interest you to meet other people who share your interests. Still spend time with your long term friends and try to re-direct the conversation to other topics.

I'd be on my guard at least. Be sure that you don't ride in a car with them if they have been out drinking, but you may want to look for other people that have a better range of conversation.

well, they are obsessed with that right now...please do break away from them...You may remain friends with them but you are now at an age where you can spread your wings and fly. Make like a tree and branch out...You don't have to loose them as friends, just get you more...
