Well, this human does not believe in an afterlife, so I disagree with the premise.

And considering the lengths certain humans go to in order to ensure their unknowable, unprovable afterlife when they *could* just be enjoying this life, I'd say it is a curse.

I'd say it's a curse for us. Animals simply realize life goes on beyond the current physical body, whereas humans agonize over a "belief" that is generally centered around "death", which is actually just a facade.

eternal life would boring. not to mention you couldnt value life itself since it is eternal.

something that will end is more valuable then something that will not.
