Stockholm Syndrome is not a mental disorder; it is a condition of empathy that is said to develope in people who are held by kidnappers for an extended period of time...the kidnapped person identifies and believes what they are told by their kidnappers...it is a form of brainwashing...

Its not a mental Disorder its a condition that develops between kidnapper and victim. Its called Stockholms syndrome . One time hostages taken in Stolkholm and held for a long period of time by the Terroists. They began to befriend their Hostages and vica a versa. They began to be sympatise with the terroists and even on release pleaded with the Authorities for leinency for the Terrorists..

Had Stockholm Syndrome, which is not really a mental condition....

Now has Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder which usually results from traumatic conditions. Symptoms include being afraid, having trouble sleeping, not trusting people, acting out, etc.
