And why..

And I don't want to hear all the three time crap.

Two time heavyweight champ is respectable, if it means you got stripped of your crown and regained it. But what does losing it and regaining it prove besides the fact that you weren't good enough to win at least one night.

BTW.. My top 3 are
1) Marciano...unbeaten
2) Louis...defended for like 11 years
3) Clay...strong and fast. beat many tough opponents.

Pound for pound - Leonard

1) I realize Ali changed his name. I just think he was a better fighter when he was still Clay.

2) How can people not even mention the only undefeated heavyweight in their top three. Every other fighter mentioned had a night in his time when he wasn't the best. How can they then be considered the best of all time?

1) Muhammad Ali - would beat ANY heavyweight in history if they were matched in their respective primes(The 60's Ali). Prevailed when he was past his prime in the "Golden Age of the Heavyweights" the 1970's.
2) Joe Louis - 25 straight title defenses is hard to overlook. Although a lot of his competition was marginal ("Bum of the Month Club").
3) Rocky Marciano - 49 - 0 smart enough to stay retired. He was relentless and had a heart of a lion. Yes, his competition can also be questioned catching Charles, Walcott in their late 30's and Moore in his mid to early 40's. Tremendous one punch knockout power in either hand.

Pound for pound - Ray Robinson, as great as Leonard was he would give Leonard a boxing lesson at welterweight.

Ali - greatest fighter that ever lived in any division. By the way, he stopped being Cassius Clay over 40 years ago.

Foreman - at age 45 he regained the heavyweight title. Oldest boxing champ in history in ANY division. That feat will probably never be repeated.

Larry Holmes - probably the most underrated fighter in history. Made 20 defenses, mostly against younger fighters.

*additional*

Marciano made six defenses against old men, way past their primes, and against legends like Roland La Starza and Don Cockell. That's why he's not even in the top five, never mind the top three.
