The only thing that helped me was taking hair vitamins and I started streaking my hair instead of over-all coloring - and changed to a really good conditioning color for streaking - natural instincts left my hair in better condition than before I colored it. But definitely trimming my hair every 4-6 weeks was NOT the way to go - in that period of time I didn't get split ends so all that was accomplished was cutting off what I had managed to grow --- or more -- horrors! But everyone is different ---- good luck. Oh, and using rubber bands or similiar things for a ponytail or whatever if they're too tight they damage hair - I had that problem and also when I put my purse over my shoulder my hair would often get caught underneath it and break off so my hair was shorter on one side. If you want instant longer hair you could always get one of those clip-on ponytails or clip on hair extensions. They're great fashion accessories for "bad hair days". Good luck!

Supposedly getting your hair trimmed makes it grow faster. But I heard that it's a myth. If you think about it, hair grows from the scalp, not the ends.
The only thing I've heard that actaully works is horse shampoo. As carzy as that sounds...

Marmite is supposed to be really good (you eat it- not sure if you have it in America?). Also lots of Vitamin D. Don't tie your ponytails too tight and avoid using lots of products- gel, mousse, spray etc. Keep your hair totally natural for at least a week in every month. Use a moisturising deep conditioner and treat your hair once a week/fortnight. Good luck!

vitamins and water to be honest and less washing sound horrible but washing 2-3 times max a week can help, top hair models only wash a few times a week and dont use condtions, but less shampooing there hair doesnt need the oil added in from condtioners.

Apparently getting it trimmed every 6 weeks helps, and when you wash your hair, finish with a blast of cold water to stimulate growth (it encourages blood circulation to the head)

No. It's in your genes.
The only thing you can do to accelerate the growing process is to receive proteins(eggs, etc) on a daily basis.
You should also use a nutritious mask after washing your hair.
Good luck.
