I cannot speak for Christians since I am not one but I do feel that there is a level of ignorance that is found within many people who practice particular religions and it just has never made much sense to me because I feel that one should respect another's beliefs or values even if they differ from their own so long as they do not promote violence or harm to others. With respect to Islam, I feel that too many people base their opinions on what they see within the media in regards to the extremists who wage warfare in the name of Allah. I personally feel that the Muslim religion is a peaceful one but because of these extremist, they have caused many to overlook the true basis of the religion, which is one of peace and brotherhood and that these extremists are what has unfortunately given the religion and those who truly practice it a bad name. It is too bad that more people do not abide by the same standards that they expect those who do not conform to their religion to follow and that more people do not conduct some sort of research to get a better understanding of things before jumping to conclusions or being force-fed outrageous opinions based on what they see on television and such.

I think some of it has to do with a media system that is trying to promote Islam as a religion of peace, when five minutes later we hear suicide bombers in __________ country have killed 12 people and injured 19. That does not mean that Muslims themselves cannot be peaceful, but the Koran speaks very strongly against people who do not believe the same as they do. And by that, it is understood as their exact believe. That is why the Sunni and Shiite Muslims hate each other and are warring all over the world. They are each others enemies since they believe the Koran differently.
So, "the Christian" in many regards is only pointing out what many in our society are trying to cover up and deny. I haven't heard of any Christian suicide bombers lately. So by "respect" do you mean that they disagree with them verbally. I still remember thousands of Americans that died in the Twin Towers because of a lack of "respect."
Here are a couple of verses from the Koran to demonstrate what Muslims read and are taught:
Allah is an enemy to unbelievers. - Sura 2:98
On unbelievers is the curse of Allah. - Sura 2:161
I am not trying to promote anything, just demonstrating a different point of view.

I'm a Christian and I don't believe Islam is evil. All religions preach love, it's the people within the religions that interpret things mistakenly, or on purpose for evil ends. We should all respect each other and enjoy each other here on earth. To do otherwise is to defy the word of God, whatever religion you belong too.

being a christian, i believe that we are complete inconsiderate dumbasses. we shouldn't be so judgemental about iother people's religions. they have just as much right to believe what they want. But a majority of christians are arrogant assholes. i respect other faiths more than mine adn i go to an all girls catholic high school. 0.o anyway, i think islam is a very interesting religion as any other and should get the respect it deserves, along with any other religion.
