My advice would be to get a good sized medicine ball, say about 16 lbs. hold it in your hands and lay on your back, and throw it straight up so it lands on your stomach. I'd suggest using a pressing motion, like passing a basketball or doing a pushup, to press it straight out.

ok for one thing a machine that strikes you in the abs i suppose probably could condition u to recieve strikes. but still u would be much better off learning how to BLOCK the strikes while at the same time conditioning for them. anyway u can lose points for getting hit in open spots too much. judges dont like it. u would be much better off training with a real person.

you and a partner practice throwing a medicine ball at each other, lay don on the floor and have a workout partner throw a medicine ball straight down on your stomache, watch the movie about rocky you will see them doing that its an old school method of strengthening your abs, also building your tolerance to pain, you can purchase a medicine ball at a sporting goods store, its a little bigger than a bowling ball and it comes in different weights, i reccomend 20 lbs

crunches are the best way to train your abs, after you have effectively trained you abs to be rock solid, then try using a medicine ball, have someone stand over you and repeatedly drop not throw just drop the ball on your abs you will learn to tense and release while taking a blow....
