Woah that is crazy. Well, I can relate to liking a friends ex guy, but this is over the top, like something in a TV show!!! Well, I guess first things first, ask your best friend if she would feel comfortable with you going out with him. And are you on good terms with your ex? Do you think he would get mad if you two hooked up? If you still are pretty good friends talk to him too. If they aren't ok with it then you have a choice to make: what is more important? How much do you like this guy? I am sure they would eventually accpet it and be happy for you but this is all your choice. Also, do you even know if there is a chance he likes you? Maybe before you talk to your friends ask the guy and if he does then tell him you have to clear it with some people because you don't want to hurt them. (or whatever way you want to put it.) Good luck!

With all the guys in the world, why would you pick the one that should be off limits? Do everyone a favor and stay away. Is he even interested in you? Why start something that will probably end bad? No guy is worth hurting or losing a best friend over.

I just read your additional details and see that your best friend is okay with it and he likes you too. It looks like this one is really up to the guy. He's going to have to decide if his friendship with your ex is more important or if he'd rather date you. A lot is going to depend on what your ex thinks about this whole thing. I do think it's weird that your best friend is okay with this. Is this a high school or adult relationship were talking about? Good luck!
