He is not the only person who has died before. I’m not trying to minimize his death or his sacrifice, I wouldn't wish a crucifixion on my worst enemy, be there has been other deaths besides his, and I'm sure much more worst.

He was without even one little sin, and was God incarnate. If ANYone was too innocent to die, it would have been him! He was a sacrifice, and had not only done no wrong, but had helped SO many! Being God, coming to earth, going through all that entails, all to die for you and me, while we were yet sinners? THAT is what makes him different. It was the only way back to God, period. ANYother death, cannot do what his did. Even we, cannot die for our own sins, and be saved from them, nor our childrens, etc. Think of it, God and King of the universe, coming down as a baby needing diapers......to eventually die, having never sinned. Pure love....thank you God.

The perfect man Adam sinned and doomed man kind to grow old get sick and die.

The perfect man Jesus gave his life to counteract the effect of Adamic sin.

The sacrificing of animals foreshadowed a greater sacrifice, That of Jesus. He is The ransom paid for Jehovah God to buy back mankind from enslavement to sin and death, and soon the ones who heed Jehovah's message and accept his son Jesus' headship will benefit from Jesus' sacrifice and enjoy everlasting life as promised by Jehovah. It was a very high price that Jehovah paid in watching his only begotten son suffer and die for us. Jesus spent countless ages with Jehovah before he was sent to earth, that is why Jesus reflects Jehovah's personality so well that Jesus said that he who has seen him has seen the father. Jesus is not the same person as God (The trinity is a pagan form of worship introduced into Christianity after the 4th century and was not a part of true worship. Look it up in the New Catholic Encyclopedia) So his blood was very precious in God's eyes.

The one thing that makes his death special is it's subsequent glorification and the fact that huge numbers of people are willing to take on trust that he was resurrected and was "the son" of God (whatever that means in this context).

He was a man who (according to historical accounts) lived a rather extraordinary life, but no more extraordinary than many others.

His death is different only through the efforts of St Paul and his successors who have spread the message of the Christian church.

He was inocent and He never sinned against His Father God. Every one else has sinned somewhere or some how. He bore our sins on the cross. He was bruise for our transgression. He was tore for our iniquities. By His stripe we were healed.

God is Elohim. When Jesus cried to His Father, He cried, "El El why have you forsaken me!". God broke for us.

But the chastisement of our peace was upon Him. The wages of sin is death. And death & hell reigned since the 1st Adam sinned and we all inherit the death sentence for all have sinned and come short of Gods Glory. Except Jesus. He Is the Lamb of God, sinless. For without shedding of blood there is no remission of sin. And the righteous must die for the unrighteous. Jesus was without sin, so He raised from the dead, to show us the way and we can also raise from the dead at the day of redemtion complete. (When the 1st Resurrection of the dead is complete.)

Like the first Adam we all sin & die, but by the last Adam we all (who believe) are spiritual reborn and live.

The difference is that Jesus is the seed of the Woman, born without sin nature and He was like the 1st Adam before the fall. Jesus defeated the serpent and death & hell. He alone could win us everlasting life again. He could have messed up, but He didn't and raised from the dead.

In fact there were thousands of crucifixions, it was a favorite Roman method of execution throughout the empire.
The difference was that Jesus knew where he was going and who he was, and if he didn't die that way, dying for the sins of mankind wouldn't have had the impact his death did.

Jesus lived a sinless, perfect life. Therefore he could take the sins of the world upon himself. When he took the punishment for sin it took our punishment away from us. If we believe in him we are no longer guilty. So...
1. Jesus lived a sinless life
2. He died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins
3. He rose from the dead

If any of those 3 things would have been left out than it would have meant nothing.

Because His body didn't stay in the grave. His resurrection made His death different. After His death He was seen by at least 500 people and He was seen ascending into heaven in a cloud by people.

Not your every day, run of the mill, death.

Because He died in your place. His death was to pay the penalty for all of your sins. Had you and He been the only two people on the face of the earth and you had done something worthy of death, He would gladly and lovingly take your punishment on himself, just to allow you to approach God with a clean heart.

The difference is simple, when you go to the tomb of any other great religious figures or martyrs, you will find their remains. They are still dead. But when you go to the tomb of Jesus in Jerusalem (which I have) you will find a sign on the door that reads: "He is not here, for He is risen!"

He arose from the dead, death could not hold Him! He lives to day!!!
He was God, and because He was, Jesus had the Power over death and sin.

Because unlike Krishna, Bhudda, Confucious, and Mohammed (though he was a "prophet" and not "God")...if you go to Jesus's tomb, He isn't there because He rose from the grave. Also, in the Book of Acts, there is an account that says after His resurrection there was a multitude of some 500 people who saw His ascension into heaven.
