what happens when u prank call 911 for the 2nd time within like a 6mth. period? I did it the first time and 2 police officers came to my house and said there was a 911 call from this house and I said no there wasn't and they said well we called back about 4x to see what is wrong then they asked to see our caller ID and before they showed up I was smart enough to delete their calls of the caller ID but didn't delete the 4 flashing messages lol so they kinda had an idea but didn't say nothing so they left. and i did it last night too same stuff happend. If it keeps becoming an ongoing problem what will it result in? i'm 16 and home alone all night because parents work 3rd shift if that matters. I know im stupid for doing this but its fun in a way and I get bored so please don't insult me b/c I already know what I am doing is wrong.

There is a very bad car accident out on the highway. A couple fatalities, 2 children are about to lose one of their sibling if the cops and paramedics don't get to them real quick. But they can't get to them quick, because they are on the other side of town at a stupid 16 year olds house. Why are they there you ask, well it seems that 16 year old kid thinks it's funny to make prank 911 calls because he's bored. There would have been no fatalities if the emergency personnel could have got to them in time. Would you like to go tell that family that it was your fault they lost family members because you were "HAVING FUN"? The 2 people in the other car were in grave condition. They were a mom and dad of a 16 year old kid who should be mature enough to know that 911 calls are not for entertainment purposes. The parents thought the kid was mature enough to stay home alone while they went to work to make money to feed and clothe him, and also put a roof over his head. Are you prepared to live with this guilt the rest of your life? Well, you better prepare for it, because it's going to happen. At least you won't be able to make any more 911 calls from your prison cell that will be your home for the rest of your life.

I don't think they can prevent them. An officer will always have to go to the scene just in case. This question reminds me of a time I was in a police station. This lady came in with 2 young kids about 4-7 years old. While she was at the front desk talking to the police officer he received a phone call from the 911 operators telling him that someone was calling 911 from a payphone inside the station. Well the little darlings that they weren't were the ones calling 911 and hanging up....LOL I say those 2 kids got quite a spanking when mom got them home...

I have to agree that you need a hobby. Actually you should be sleeping at that time. You really do need help. A.) You need to value the fact that your parents are going out to work so they can keep a roof over your heard. You're 16 and that's plenty old for them to not have to worry so much about leaving you alone. Have you thought about what would happen if you do get in trouble? Your parents will more than likely get in trouble for leaving you alone and they could maybe even possibly lose their jobs. How would you feel then? B.) Like another person said. You're wasting valuable time. Instead of the cops attending to your silly stupid childish call they could be attending to a real call. Get a life...go read a book...get off the computer and obviously the phone. You should probably ask your parents to help you somehow...because you're problem goes a lot deeper than just a prank call.

You need to find a better way to pass the time.

You can be FINED for this, as well as jailed. And in the meantime, while YOU are wasting the 911 operator's time (as well as the police) someone else who might have a REAL EMERGENCY is WAITING for that operator. THINK about the consequences of your actions. ANY prank calls are prosecutable in court, but pranks to 911 can land you HEFTY fines, as well as having to pay for the time of the operator, police officers and any emergency personnel that get dispatched to your location.

Wow, wait until you do that and there really is an emergency and somebody dies. Then they will show cause that you have been pranking them for a while and you may get charged with involuntary manslaughter.
If that does not happen the police department will start levying fines against your family.
Also if you ever need the police them may take their sweet time getting to your house because you "cried Wolf" so many times.

Geez...........Deleting YOUR caller ID will do nothing. When you call 911, your house number, telephone number come up on the screen. Also any other information that they may have on file concerning your address. And yes you can be arrested for making false/nuisance calls to 911

And yes it is stupid. While you are making these prank calls and police officers are responding, someone else who may really need their assistance are left to wait.

Grow up

I think they start sending you bills. I've heard it costs like $5 to prank, so you'll have to start paying. Also, I think you should learn how to knit. It would definitely keep you occupied and it's REALLY fun too. Go to you local craft store and see if they have classes, or they also have videos on the internet, or you make know someone that already knows how to. Seriously, I'm NEVER bored anymore cause i'm addicted to knitting now!!!

Thats pretty funny. You have a lot of time on your hands. Perhaps you could try to find something that you like to do but is not so mischievious. If you keep doing this the city could start fining your parents and start slamming them with hefty bills. Look at it this way you might be taking them away from someone who really needs their help. Think about it.

Imagine if a woman is being raped a few blocks away but instead of responding to that woman's 911 call, they get to yours, first only to find out your "playing", the woman can be killed because of you. This is not a laughing matter, it's really serious. Think of what you are doing.
