I'm not sure if this is what you are asking, but technically underneath him.

Most Hindu gods have 'vehicles' and Ganesha's happens to be a rat (or a mouse if you prefer - it isn't clear).

The mouse is the vehicle of Ganesha so you would really not see it in him but rather him ON it.

HUh? My Ganesha is a human body with the head of an elephant. Mouse must be stuck under his foot....
